Also, these meshes can be manufactured using special alloys and weavable materials made as per specifications. The best varieties are 304-grade and 316-grade stainless steel.

The Wire Spacing:

The Spacing of welded wire mesh is represented by measurement made from the center of two wires or measurement of opening between two wires. The standard wire spacing is 1” while you can also choose custom welded wire in a spacing that suits your applications.

The Wire Diameter:

The welded mesh is available in a wide variety of diameters. You can choose the right diameter according to the desired strength. For accuracy in determining wire diameter, you should use decimal format instead of using the gauge format.

The Edge Conditions:

There are basically two types of edges in a wire mesh. They include trimmed and untrimmed wire mesh. There should be proper spacing around the perimeter of trimmed mesh. This perimeter can also be balanced or reduced to stay within the intended dimensions. When looking for untrimmed edges, you should prefer outer wire overhanging. It should be equal to the wire mesh spacing. In these meshes, tail length can also be customized as per requirements.

Standard Back Gain:

It is a natural occurrence caused due to cooling and hearing of the mesh. It is common in tightly spaced wire mesh.

Quality Testing Procedures:

The manufacturer should follow stringent internal standards to make the welded wire mesh for consistency. There are different quality checks used for testing the dimension and strength of the mesh. They are documented throughout the production process using torque test and weld set-down mesh.
